How do I change my password?
If need to update your password for any reason, remember that you will have to use the new password when you log into the system in future.
To change your password
- Hover over the user icon at the top right of the screen. A menu will appear.
- Click on the first item on the menu (Account details), and you will be taken to a screen showing your account details.
- To change your password, you must enter your existing password into the Current Password field, and then enter the password you want to change to twice, typing it the same way into each of the other fields. (Note that passwords must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one letter and at least one number.)
- If you complete all three fields correctly, your password will be changed when you click Submit. A green arrow is displayed once the change has been made. (Note that the Submit button will not enable unless you have typed your new password correctly both times. If you make any mistakes, messages will appear trying to let you know what's wrong.)
Once your password has been changed, you will receive an email letting you know that this has been done. We do this for security, so that (if anyone breaks into your account and changes the password) you become aware of problems as soon as they arise. (NB We never send your password in an email. We don't actually store it anyway and have no way to find out what it might be.)
